Jasmine Shahin is the Founder and Design Director at Nu Design Bureau. She has over 20 years of experience in the field of Interior Design and Design Education. In 2000, Shahin graduated from the American University in Dubai, after which she trained with some of the largest firms in the Middle East. In 2007, she joined De Montfort University in Leicester, UK, where she received both her MPhil (2010) and PhD (2020) in Architectural and Urban Theory. Shahin has produced several publications and has presented many papers at international conferences. Her academic publications focus on the importance of hermeneutics for understanding the development of historical places in relation to contingent social experiences. Her monograph The Poetics of Arabian Suqs was published by the leading international publisher Routledge in 2022.
Jasmine’s professional experience is likewise extensive versatile, having been strongly involved in the design, supervision and management of many project sizes and types. She is a WELL Accredited Professional (2023), who continuously serves and enriches the experience of her clients with solid knowledge not only in interiors but also in wellbeing strategies.
